MacPherson Chair of Indigenous Studies, McMaster University<br>\nKeynote Presentation date\/time TBD<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">____________________________________________________________<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 id=\"call-for-abstracts-application-deadline-october-1-2021\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Call for Abstracts &#8211; Application deadline: October 1, 2021<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Submissions are welcome from graduate students in philosophy, law, social sciences, public policy, political theory, political science, economics, health policy on any issues and topics related broadly to applied ethics, critical social sciences, ongoing contemporary social issues, and global challenges. The Public Issues and Public Reason conference (PIPR) is a multidisciplinary conference hosted by the Ethics and Public Affairs graduate programs at Carleton University. It is open to all graduate students who work on current social and political issues, global challenges through the lenses of political theory, applied ethics and critical social sciences with an emphasis on multidisciplinary engagement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 id=\"instructions-for-applicants\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Instructions for applicants:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Extended Abstracts (with title) should be 500-1000 words<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Full papers can be submitted if already prepared<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Applicants should remove any identifying information on the abstract and include a separate document with their name, email, affiliation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Abstracts should be sent to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:gradconference.pipr@gmail.com\">gradconference.pipr@gmail.com<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Please submit abstractions as word or pdf documents<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Accepted presenters will be allocated a total of 45 minutes for presentation and discussion.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Presenters will be asked to read 2 papers prepared by other presenters and should come prepared to offer feedback and comments.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>As this conference has significant workshopping elements, we suggest authors take only 5-10 minutes to explain the main elements of their paper before opening the session for discussion with other participants.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Notification of acceptance will be on October 11<sup>th<\/sup><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>For more information please email&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:gradconference.pipr@gmail.com\">gradconference.pipr@gmail.com<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Public Issues and Public Reason conference (PIPR) is a multidisciplinary conference at which graduate students from a variety of programs and disciplines will present papers analyzing current social and global challenges through the lenses of political theory, applied ethics, and critical social sciences.
