In particular, we are interested in the similarities and differences between these sets of prejudice and their consequences in the lives of the minorities. Public opinion, public policy and academic research have tended to conceptualize questions pertaining to the Roma community disjointly from the wider and more general questions that concern minorities. In public and political debates, there has been a tendency to focus on Roma as a group distinct from other minority groups. This workshop seeks to contribute to a better understanding of the \u2018Roma question\u2019 and to bridge the two areas that have thus far been surprisingly isolated from each other.
