About the event:

In 2022, Canada and the European Union celebrate the fifth anniversary of the provisional application  of the Canada-EU Strategic Partnership Agreement (SPA) and the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA). The two agreements provide a strong foundation for Canada-EU  cooperation on a multitude of issues, ranging from global security to ensuring the stability of supply chains.

The last two years have been tumultuous, and have brought significant additional challenges that Canada and the EU must navigate, including addressing the war in Ukraine. Join us as Ambassadors Campbell and Gabrič reflect on ways to advance the Canada-EU strategic partnership going forward, in an increasingly uncertain international environment.

About the speakers:

Before assuming her current position, she served as Chief Trade Commissioner of Canada (2017-2020) and in various other senior roles at Global Affairs Canada, Finance Canada, the Privy Council Office and Industry Canada. Melita Gabrič is Ambassador of the European Union to Canada. Previously, she served as Ambassador of Slovenia to Canada (2018-2020).
