“How Network Structures Affect Enterprise Performance and Innovation in Transition Economies: The Case of Armenia”

With Tatevik Poghosyan, PhD Fellow at the UN University in Maastricht

Event Poster

This discussion will focus on a study of Armenia’s economic transformation during the post-Soviet era up to the nation’s current economic status. The talk will examine the changes in board members’ networks and its impact on the performance of Armenian enterprises (or firms). This study answered the following questions: (1) Does a corporate network affect firm performance? and (2) How does inter-firm collaboration enables innovation and learning? The aim of the study is to deepen the understanding of non-market mechanisms in the Armenian economy where enterprises face political, economic, and institutional uncertainties with little knowledge and experience of a market economy.

Tatevik Poghosyan is a PhD fellow at UN University in Maastricht in the Economics and Technological Change program. She also received an award with the Social Innovation Division at the International Development Research Center in recognition for her research.
