Please join us for a special guest lecture featuring Belgian Foreign Minister Didier Reynders presenting “Current Challenges and Future Prospects of the European Union.” This lecture will explore the challenges and opportunities currently facing the European Union. The Minister will discuss ongoing developments such as Brexit and attempts to safeguard the rule of law. He will comment on the EU’s policy towards international trade (including the CETA agreement) as well as the EU’s role in defence policy and in addressing major international conflicts (including Russia/Ukraine, Middle East).

About the speaker: Didier Reynders is Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Affairs of the Kingdom of Belgium. He also serves as Deputy Prime Minister. Before assuming his current position in 2011, he was Belgium’s Minister of Finance for eleven years.
