In this talk, Professor Alison Konrad will examine the status of women in business leadership around the world, focusing on comparisons between Europe and North America. Dr. Konrad will identify factors linked to the progress of women’s business leadership as well as prospects for the next generation of women leaders.
Alison M. Konrad, PhD., joined the Richard Ivey School of Business, University of Western Ontario in 2003 as a Professor of Organizational Behaviour and is holder of the Corus Entertainment Chair in Women in Management. She was Chair of the Academy of Management’s Gender and Diversity in Organizations Division in 1996-97 and received the Division’s Sage Scholarship Award for contributions to the field of gender and diversity in organizations in 1998. She is co-editor of the 2006 Sage Handbook of Workplace Diversity, and has published over 100 writings in the field of workplace diversity, including articles, book chapters and cases. Professor Konrad’s current work focuses on women in leadership, organizational diversity initiatives and making workplaces more inclusive.
