We are pleased to be hosting Yulia Kovaliv, Ambassador of Ukraine to Canada<\/a>, for a conversation about the ongoing war in Ukraine one year in. This event is co-organized by the Institute of European, Russian and Eurasian Studies<\/a> (EURUS)at Carleton University<\/a> and the Embassy of Ukraine to Canada<\/a>. This event is the first in a new EURUS lecture series “War in Ukraine: One Year in.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This lecture is taking place before two significant events in Ukrainian History. On January 22, Ukraine is celebrating the proclamation of the independence of the Ukrainian People\u2019s Republic (1918) and the unification of the Ukrainian People\u2019s Republic and the Western Ukrainian People\u2019s Republic into one state (1919). With this important occasion, Ambassador Kovaliv is joining us to discuss the developments in the current fight of Ukraine for its independence and national unity due to the Russian invasion of its territory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
