It investigates the contemporary nationalist populism in the context of liberal democracy and shows how the crisis of Hungarian democracy before 2010 led to the creation of a hybrid political regime based on a permanent state of exception.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.antalattila.hu\/p\/english.html\">Attila Antal<\/a>&nbsp;is senior lecturer in the Faculty of Law at E\u00f6tv\u00f6s Lor\u00e1nd University in Budapest; he also coordinates the Social Theory Research Group in the Institute of Political History. His research focuses on the political theory of populism, social and critical theory, democratic theory, green political thought, constitutionalism, and political history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This event is free and open to the public.
