Ukrainians have been displaced, with more than 4 mil. sheltering in the neighbouring European countries. According to the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) Commissioner, Filippo Grandi, this is \u201cthe fastest growing refugee crisis in Europe since World War II.\u201d This roundtable brought together experts from Europe and Canada to discuss the current situation of Ukrainian refugees, the responses of the European Union and Canada to the ongoing humanitarian crisis, and possible lessons learned from other conflicts with recent mass migration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This event was hosted by the Institute of European, Russian and Eurasian Studies (EURUS) and the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence at Carleton University. This panel of experts included: Maciej Duszczyk (University of Warsaw), Masa Kateb (Refugee Advisory Network of Canada), James Milner (Carleton University), Saime Ozcurumez (Bilkent University), Catherine Woollard (European Council on Refugees and Exiles), and Agnieszka Weinar (Carleton University, as moderator).
