Admissions Funding<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

All applicants to the EURUS MA program as full-time students will be considered for funding on admission to the program in the form of teaching assistantships, research assistantships, and\/or scholarships. This funded is awarded on the basis of academic excellence. Applications received prior to February 1st will automatically be considered for admissions funding. Applications received after February 1st may still be considered for admissions funding if funded spots are still available. Students not awarded funding at admission can still apply for out of priority TA.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Scholarships and Bursaries<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Carleton University has a number of donor-funded scholarships and bursary programs that are available to students. In addition, EURUS has some donor-funded departmental awards and bursary funds. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Travel Support for Research and Language Study<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

EURUS faculty often hold research grants, both individual and larger collaborative grants, that often provide opportunities to support students through employment as research assistants (RAs) or to provide travel support to students for field research in the region, participation on courses abroad such as the EU study tour, or for intensive language study. Some current research initiatives are listed on our research units<\/a> page. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

External Scholarships and Student Assistance<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In addition, there are a number of government funded scholarship programs that offer awards tenable at Carleton. These awards are available to Canadians and landed immigrants. Examples include the fellowships awarded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada<\/strong><\/a> (SSHRC), the Ontario Graduate Scholarships<\/strong><\/a> (OGS), and the Canada Graduate Scholarships<\/strong> <\/a>(CGS).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, Ontario residents who are Canadian citizens or landed immigrants (permanent residents) can apply for financial aid from the Ontario Student Assistance Program<\/strong> <\/a>(OSAP). This offers Canadian and Ontario students loans based on financial need, and study grants. Application forms and a brochure containing details of the plan, including conditions of eligibility, may be obtained from the Awards Office at Carleton University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students from other provinces should apply to financial assistance via the student assistance program in their province of residence. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Co-Op<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

EURUS offers a co-op option for students enrolled in the MA program and BA students in their 4th year, allowing them to gain practical experience and skills while pursuing their studies.
