\n Dual Master in European Studies\n <\/h1>\n \n \n <\/header>\n\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n

Interested in studying Europe both at Carleton University and at the very heart of the European Union? The Dual Master in European Studies<\/strong> may be the right program for you. This programme was launched in 2018. <\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Dual Master is jointly offered by EURUS and by the European Studies at Universit\u00e9 Catholique de Louvain<\/a> (UCL). UCL is located in in Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium, a mere 30 kilometers from the core EU institutions in Brussels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students accepted to the Dual Master pathway take courses at both institutions and will, at the end of their studies, be awarded two degrees, a Master of Arts in European, Russian and Eurasian Studies from Carleton and a Master 120 en \u00e9tudes europ\u00e9ennes \u00e0 finalit\u00e9 sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9e: Gouvernance et soci\u00e9t\u00e9s europ\u00e9ennes<\/a> from UCL.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Dual Master is a 6.0 credit program. Carleton students must first be admitted to the MA in European, Russian and Eurasian Studies and can then apply to be considered for the Dual Master pathway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carleton students in the Dual Master pathway will spend the first year of their studies at Carleton University and at least two terms (fall and winter) of their second year at UCL. They must complete an MA Research Essay that is co-supervised by a professor from Carleton University and a professor from UCL.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Course requirements for the Dual Master pathway are more specific than for the EURUS MA. Please see the Dual Master Study Plan<\/a> (to be updated February 2024) for required courses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Dual Master is governed by Carleton University’s Dual Master’s Degree Policy<\/a>. Details of the Dual Master pathway are spelled out in the Dual Master Agreement<\/a> (to be updated upon renewal in February 2024) signed between Carleton and UCL.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
