He is Full Professor of International Law and International Organizations at KU Leuven in Belgium, where he serves as Jean Monnet Chair ad personam in EU and Global Governance, Founding Director of the Institute for International Law and the Leuven Centre for Global Governance Studies, and Administrator of the America Europe Fund. He has led several collaborative transatlantic research initiatives, including most recently the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/can01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com\/?url=https%3A%2F%2Ftandem-jeanmonnet.eu%2F&amp;data=05%7C02%7CAchimHurrelmann%40CUNET.CARLETON.CA%7C0063aa76dc734782ef0408debcbb1dc5%7C6ad91895de06485ebc51fce126cc8530%7C0%7C0%7C639155709340150664%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJFbXB0eU1hcGkiOnRydWUsIlYiOiIwLjAuMDAwMCIsIlAiOiJXaW4zMiIsIkFOIjoiTWFpbCIsIldUIjoyfQ%3D%3D%7C0%7C%7C%7C&amp;sdata=w1IWg5dN%2BD6XeH%2BPasJpF5CnNzgAdx2cx1v%2F63ikgV4%3D&amp;reserved=0\">Transatlantic Network for Dialogue, Education and Multidisciplinary Research (TANDEM)<\/a>, in which Carleton University is a member. He has published more than 85 books, 165 journal articles,&nbsp;and 300 book chapters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He will be teaching the following course comparing Human Rights and the Rule of Law in Europe and North America.
