What is Simulation?
Simulation is an in-class experiential learning exercise in which educators use trained actors to simulate real life scenarios for students. This approach to learning is used in medical schools, law schools, nursing and social work education to facilitate students’ application of theoretical learning. Simulation can be used as both a learning and/or assessment tool. Many students in professional programs are evaluated on their interaction with simulated clients/patients as a means to assess students’ ability to apply their learning in a professional setting.
