When your goods or services have a total procurement value of less than $121,200, you may request the required number of quotations directly from any vendors that fit your requirements. Make sure to be clear with vendors about what your requirements are so they can give you their best option(s). This may require some dialogue to make sure everyone is on the same page.

Deciding which quote to accept is up to the department’s discretion, however you should consider aspects such as price, quality, delivery, Warranty, and service standards to ensure you are receiving best value for the university.

While this procurement method is less complex than what may be required at higher total procurement value thresholds (see Request for Proposals (RFP)), it is still considered competitive procurement in line with our requirements as a Broader Public Sector institution.

Why is it important?

While Procurement Services is always available to support the community and answer questions, you are able to complete a Request for Quotations yourself.
