You won\u2019t want to miss the surprising final chapter next Tuesday!<\/p>\n<h3>What is an Activity Code?<\/h3>\n<p>It is the fifth element in a FOAPAL.\u00a0 This code can made up of four to six digits and\/ or characters (e.g. 6213, ESHOP, RCF103).<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-3306\" src=\"http:\/\/carleton.ca\/facts\/wp-content\/uploads\/ActivityCode-240x69.gif\" alt=\"ActivityCode\" width=\"577\" height=\"166\" srcset=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/facts\/wp-content\/uploads\/ActivityCode-240x69.gif 240w, https:\/\/carleton.ca\/facts\/wp-content\/uploads\/ActivityCode-160x46.gif 160w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 577px) 100vw, 577px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Activity Codes are user driven and therefore optional. They can be used to provide further detail\/ breakdown for transactions in a fund or as a method to group transactions over a range of funds.<\/p>\n<h3>How do Account Codes and Activity Codes differ?<\/h3>\n<p>Both Account Codes and Activity Codes can be used to describe the nature of a transaction.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>HOWEVER, Account Codes are prescribed by Financial Services to describe the nature of transactions for Financial Services\u2019 reporting purposes.
