(2 of 3)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In this series, Valerie Evans, the Director of Financial Service\u2019s Business Operations, shares frequently asked questions about the new evidence of pre-approval element of the Travel and Related Expenses policy.<\/p>\n<p><strong>I have been given an \u2018infrequent traveler\u2019 designation, can I change my designation?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The short answer is \u2026 maybe.<\/p>\n<p>A \u2018Frequent Traveler\u2019 designation refers to a person who has traveled on Carleton business 3 or more times in the previous 12 months spanning September to August.\u00a0 Those who have traveled 2 times or less in the same period are designated as \u2018Infrequent Travelers\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Business Operations will be updating \u2018trip counts\u2019 for Infrequent Travelers each month after the initial designation.\u00a0 This is done by reviewing travel claims submitted through the Travel and Expense Reimbursement system.\u00a0 If the threshold of 3 is reached, then both the traveler and their one-up approver will be notified of the change in status by email.\u00a0 Annually on Sept 1, the trip count will be reset and each traveler will be notified of their new status based on the prior 12 month period.<\/p>\n<p>In accordance with the policy, we are not able to change your status based on anticipated travel.<\/p>\n<p>If you have questions, or believe that your \u2018trip count\u2019 is inaccurate, contact Valerie Evans at <a href=\"&#109;&#x61;&#105;&#x6c;&#116;&#x6f;:&#x76;a&#x6c;e&#114;&#x69;&#101;&#x2e;&#101;&#x76;&#97;&#x6e;s&#x40;c&#x61;r&#108;&#x65;&#116;&#x6f;&#110;&#x2e;&#99;&#x61;\">&#x76;&#x61;&#108;er&#x69;&#x65;&#46;&#101;v&#x61;&#x6e;&#115;&#64;c&#x61;&#x72;&#x6c;&#101;to&#x6e;&#x2e;&#99;&#97;<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Related tips:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/facts\/2017\/evidence-pre-approval-1\/\">(1 of 3) What, why and who is impacted?<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/facts\/2017\/evidence-pre-approval-3\/\">(3 of 3) What if my dean or another department\/faculty is paying for my travel?
