What is a Facil?

Facils are the volunteers in blue shirts who make up the bulk of volunteers in EngFrosh that are responsible for being at the forefront of interacting with first-year students, ensuring that they have a great week and working with their heads to accomplish any necessary tasks during the week. Being a Facil is a great way to build your leadership skills and get involved with EngFrosh especially if you have never done it before! No prior EngFrosh experience is required to be a Facil! We are looking for Facils that are creative, energetic, friendly and are looking forward to creating a great experience for first-year students!

We welcome facils that are in local, national or international timezones! You do not need to be in Ottawa throughout the summer to be a facil! This will help us reach out to frosh around the globe.

All volunteers must be returning undergraduate students for the 2022 fall term and be in Good Academic Standing as defined in the Carleton University Undergraduate Calendar and be returning undergraduate students.  All volunteers will need to submit a Vulnerable Sector Check (sometimes referred to as a Police Background Check) before EngFrosh begins in September.
