The MA in Art History encourages students to access the wealth of cultural resources in the National Capital Region.  Carleton University’s practicum program places students on-site in collecting institutions to prepare them for future careers in the cultural sector.

New! MA in Art History with a concentration in Art Exhibition and Curatorial Practices
Art History now offers a new concentration designed to add value to the existing MA in Art History and respond to student interest by offering courses focused on Art Exhibition and Curatorial Practices. Applicants must already be enrolled in the MA in Art History and, upon completion of their degree, they will obtain an MA in Art History with a designated concentration in Art Exhibition and Curatorial

Art History, in conjunction with a new collaborating MA in Digital Humanities, offers a program designed to add value to the existing MA in Art History by offering courses focused on the rapidly growing field of digital humanities. Applicants must already be enrolled in the MA in Art History and, upon completion of their degree, they will obtain an MA in Art History with a designated concentration in Digital Humanities.
