Dr. Mercer is a specialist on the visual arts of the Black Diaspora and World Art Histories. His work has been instrumental in shifting discourses in Art History from a nation-based model to transnational narratives, in particular his series on Annotating Art\u2019s Histories, published by MIT Press. This lecture will explore the changing contexts and discourses of and around Black Diasporic artistic practices since  the 1980s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
