Tim Cook,<\/a> a historian at the Canadian War Museum and an adjunct research professor of History won an Ottawa Book Award <\/a>for his book Fight to the Finish: Canadians in the Second World War, 1944-1945.<\/em> The book is the second volume of a two-part series and tells the stories of Canadians both overseas and at home. Cook is a past winner<\/a> of the Ottawa Book Award<\/a> for his non-fiction book At the Sharp End: Canadians Fighting the Great War<\/em>, which won in 2008.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the French non-fiction division, Patricia Smart<\/a>, Chancellor\u2019s Professor Emerita of the French Department, won the Prix du live d’Ottawa for  De Marie de l\u2019Incarnation \u00e0 Nelly Arcan<\/em><\/a>. <\/em>The book details a collection of writings by women providing their perspectives and experiences throughout Quebec\u2019s history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
