The Canada Prizes are awarded annually to the best scholarly books in the humanities and social sciences that have received funding from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ideas-idees.ca\/issues\/aspp-and-canada-prizes\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Awards to Scholarly Publications Program<\/a> (ASPP).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Canada Prizes are awarded to books that make an exceptional contribution to scholarship, are engagingly written, and enrich the social, cultural and intellectual life of Canada. There are two $5000 prizes, one each for French and English scholarship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe humanities and social sciences are ever-present in our daily lives. The scholarly works of these 10 exceptional finalists demonstrate the richness and diversity of talent dedicated to pursuing deeper understanding of who we are as individuals and as a country,\u201d said Stephen J.
