The research project, \u201cExploring Cognitive Reserve in Adults with Acute and Chronic Hearing Loss using Multi-Modal MRI,\u201d aims to test evidence for three theories linking hearing loss with cognitive decline (the information degradation hypothesis, the sensory deprivation hypothesis, and the common cause hypothesis), using a novel multimodal approach.
