This conference will address this quandary by looking at the differences between what is new, what is the same, and the current fluidity of cinema. Inspired by the changing dynamics in the discourse of cinema, we are looking to re-evaluate the cinematic by considering what all cinematic space and the material objects that comprise that space might encompass.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>CONFERENCE DATES: MARCH 11 and 12, 2016<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You are invited to attend the Carleton Film Studies program\u2019s annual graduate conference where students from all over Canada will present papers discussing their ideas on the current film and mediascape!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Topics include gender, landscape, space, and the technology of cinema. Panels will be followed by a Q&amp;A from the audience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Admission is free and food and drink is provided.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>March 11, 5-7pm: Keynote address and discussion.<br>\nCarleton University Art Gallery, St. Patrick\u2019s Building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>March 12, 10am-3pm (lunch: 12-1pm): Conference.<br>\n435 St. Patrick\u2019s Building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Keynote Speaker:<br>\nKay Dickinson, Film Scholar, Concordia University<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Dickinson\u2019s research concerns multimedia and how the industries of film, television and music work together.
