You can register&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/us02web.zoom.us\/meeting\/register\/tZwtc-2gqzsjGtQr1KksLmY6Qs0mLgRH8kOV\">here<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">The workshop will consist of a 30-minute talk by Jimmy, a break that include<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">s<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">&nbsp;an independent exercise and a 45-minute wrap-up and discussion.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">In this workshop, Jimmy expands his notion of \u201c<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">acces<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">(<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">sens<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">)<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">ibility<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u201d&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">He<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">&nbsp;proposes&nbsp;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">a way to move from being unconsciously immersed in the naturalized&nbsp;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">violences<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">&nbsp;of separability&nbsp;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u2014&nbsp;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">accessibility as privileging&nbsp;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">modern-colonial ways<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">&nbsp;of being and knowing that elevate individuality&nbsp;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u2014&nbsp;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">toward consciously making space for different<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,&nbsp;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">unintelligible sensibilities.&nbsp;<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Jimmy&nbsp;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">will gesture toward ways of interrupting<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">&nbsp;and&nbsp;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">decluttering harmful and unsustainable desires<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">&nbsp;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">which&nbsp;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">prevent us from imagining wiser futures&nbsp;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">and<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">&nbsp;relationships with each other and the Earth.&nbsp; We will consider strategies around care&nbsp;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">that&nbsp;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">a<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">re&nbsp;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">rooted in Indigenous and disability community teachings.&nbsp;<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">As Jimmy writes, \u201cWhen relationality is based on the primary sense of entanglement with all other beings, other senses and sensibilities are activated.\u201d&nbsp;<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Disruptions 05<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">&nbsp;is generously supported by the Canada Council for the Arts, Ontario Arts Council, Reesa Greenberg Digital Initiatives Fund, Office of the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, School for Studies in Art and Culture, The Pauline Jewett Institute of Women\u2019s and Gender Studies, Institute for Comparative Studies in Literature, Art and Culture, READ Initiative, Carleton Disability Awareness Centre, Graduate Students Association and Carleton University Students Association.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Access&nbsp;<\/strong><br>\n<span data-contrast=\"auto\">T<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">his event is held on Zoom. For almost 20 years, he has played a leadership role in several art projects, collectives and organizations<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">&nbsp;nationally and abroad.&nbsp;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">H<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">e has employed photography, film, video, storytelling, language, text, textiles, natural materials, performance<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">&nbsp;and persona<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">l and<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">&nbsp;community narratives as the foundation for&nbsp;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">collaborative projects.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Michael Orsini<span data-contrast=\"auto\">&nbsp;is Professor in the Institute of Feminist and Gender Studies and the School of Political Studies at the University of Ottawa. He is co-editor (with Christine Kelly) of&nbsp;<\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Mobilizing Metaphor: Art, Culture and Disability Activism in Canada<\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">&nbsp;(UBC Press, 2016).
