The Feminist Institute of Social Transformation at Carleton University is excited to host the 2025 Florence Bird Lecture<\/a> on Thursday, March 20, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM<\/em> at Carleton University. This year\u2019s distinguished speaker is Jamie Liew, a professor, lawyer, and author, whose work critically examines migration, citizenship, and statelessness. Her lecture, Ghost Citizens: Statelessness and Sociolegal Hauntings<\/em>, will explore how colonial legacies and legal frameworks render individuals invisible in the eyes of the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Join us for this engaging and thought-provoking discussion on the impacts of statelessness and the unseen forces that shape belonging, identity, and legal recognition.
