Her research focuses on women\u2019s organizing, social justice and institutional racism using critical race, intersectional and decolonizing theories and methodologies. Her interests are grounded in her community activism working with women\u2019s organizations locally, nationally and internationally. Dr. Birk recently returned from a year in Aotearoa, New Zealand, completing a SSHRC postdoc focused on her project <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/fist\/2020\/manjeet-birk-begins-sshrc-postdoc-pathways-to-inclusion-of-indigenous-and-racialized-communities-a-comparative-analysis-between-canada-and-new-zealand\/\"><i>Pathways to Inclusion of Indigenous and Racialized Communities: A Comparative Analysis Between Canada and New Zealand<\/i><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n<div class=\"cu-column-content\">\n    \n\n<h3 id=\"dr-katie-bausch\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Dr. Katie Bausch:<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><em><span class=\"JsGRdQ\">Available: On campus or on Zoom, Tuesdays &amp; Thursdays between 10:00 a.m. \u2013 4:00 p.m., by appointment<\/span> <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Katie is trained as a feminist historian and interdisciplinary scholar whose early research examined the intersections of masculinity, whiteness, and anti-black racism in US popular culture. Currently, Katie is working on researching and developing pedagogical tools that can be used to educate and empower students to learn and unlearn the patriarchal, colonial, and white supremacist structures in our world.
