Learn more about Dr. Amrita Hari<\/a>‘s research and teaching and why you should join the Feminist Institute of Social Transformation (FIST) at Carleton. <\/span>Professor Amrita Hari<\/a> from FIST discusses her research on migration and identity, and how to recognize the diverse ways in which gender, sexuality, race, class, and dis\/ability shape our lives and the world around us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Hari is the Director and an Associate Professor at FIST. Her research focuses on global migration, transnationalism, citizenship, gender, diasporic formations, intersectional identities and acts of resistance of refugees and asylum seekers. Her work engages with the notion of \u201cdoing gender\u201d within the context of migration, gendered division of household labor, and the Canadian labor market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
