Thank you to all members of the Carleton community who took part in this year’s Clean Up the Campus initiative, and worked together to beautify the campus in honour of Earth Day. On April 28, Healthy Workplace and the Sustainability Office invited staff and faculty to join forces to clean up the trash that had been hidden by the snow to make way for spring!

Over 50 participants managed to pick up 18 LARGE bags of garbage and 9 bags of recycling! A great effort and everyone who participated was rewarded with a free cup of Fairtrade coffee.

While participants were busy picking up trash, they also had an opportunity to take part in a scavenger hunt! There were Globes scattered throughout the various clean-up zones to highlight Earth Day. Those who found the markers won a Healthy Workplace prize pack of a reusable water cup and umbrella.

Clean Up the Campus is part of the city-wide Tim Hortons Cleaning the Capital campaign. Thank you for joining your friends, coworkers and neighbours to clean up where you live, work or play. Be proud of your city! Together, we can keep Carleton and Ottawa clean, green, graffiti and litter-free!

Thank you to everyone who participated!
