A typical day at work consists of communicating with customers via phone, email, and live chat! My job is very customer service oriented. We are a laboratory distribution company, so I help my customers find the right products for them to meet their needs in the lab. Typical tasks also include processing orders, quote requests, and answering inquiries we may get regarding our products.

My future goals are to make my inside representative position and outside representative position. The best part about my job is interacting with customers and learning about what they do in the lab. As an outside representative, I would be able to do this on a regular basis in person.

My degree has helped me get to where I am today by the experience I gained in the laboratory. Having hands on lab experience gave me the knowledge I need to help my customers find the right product for them, and makes it easier for me to understand their needs.

My advice for current students is to network as much as you possibly can! This will help you get a job once you graduate. Get on LinkedIn, volunteer in a lab, attend conferences. Do anything you can to build connections and gain more outside classroom experience.
