Professor David Carment

Each year, the Country Indicators for Foreign Policy (CIFP) project releases a report on fragile and failed states such as Somalia and Syria. Professor David Carment is the lead researcher on the project and a professor in the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs (NPSIA).

“We figure out how these countries are performing, produce a fingerprint of each country’s performance, tie that back into policy, and feed it back into the government,” Carment explains.

You can read more about Professor Carment’s research on fragile and failed states in a feature story on the Carleton University website.
