Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has named Kristina Namiesniowski as the new head of the Public Health Agency of Canada, as of May 6, 2019. Namiesniowski is currently the Executive Vice-President of the Canada Border Services Agency.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts, Political Science from Carleton University, as well as a Master of Arts, Political Science from Dalhousie University.
Her career began as Executive Assistant to the Deputy Minister of National Defence in 1995. She went on to serve as a Director General in National Defence, followed by positions in the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat, Canadian Heritage, Public Safety Canada, the Privy Council Office, and Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada.
