Professor Graeme Auld of the School of Public Policy and Administration won a SSHRC Insight Grant.

Research funding successes in the Faculty of Public Affairs (FPA) have helped Carleton University secure the top spot for Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) funding in comprehensive universities, according to the latest Maclean’s magazine rankings released October 6, 2022.

In FPA, researchers were awarded more than $16.2 million in funding from SSHRC and other sources in fiscal year 2022.

“This announcement underscores the research strength within the Faculty of Public Affairs,” says Dean Brenda O’Neill. “The work of our researchers and their partners is having an impact in Canada and many other countries. This reflects our faculty’s mission to contribute to informed citizenship and address regional and global challenges.”

This fall, FPA also launched a podcast for social science researchers, Research Shop Talk, hosted by Kyla Reid, the manager for research services and initiatives in the Faculty. She leads a lively chat with FPA faculty about the challenges and the wins of being an academic researcher.
