Bagels and Banter is a monthly opportunity to discuss shared research and teaching and learning topics with faculty members in a relaxed setting. Learn about new topics, teaching methods and potential research collaborations.

Bagels and Banter is open to all faculty members. Faculty members are encouraged to bring their graduate students.

February’s topic is “Building a Course-Based Media Pedagogy Project: Thoughts and Reflections” and is presented by Vincent Adrisani.

Vincent Andrisani is an Instructor in the Communication and Media Studies program and an audio media creator. His teaching asks students to move beyond thinking about their work as required course outputs to imagining them as media texts that examine and respond to contemporary issues and debates. One way Vincent has put this pedagogical approach into motion is by producing a bi-weekly podcast series that airs on CKCU titled “The Place of Sound”, which showcases student work in a public venue. In this session, Vincent will discuss some of the successes, shortcomings, and possibilities associated with this approach to teaching and learning.

Please note, you will receive the Zoom invitation via email shortly after registering.
