FPA Currents is an annual lecture held in September as part of Carleton University’s Throwback Celebrations. The topic for the lecture will vary, but the theme will always be at the intersection of politics, policy, journalism and current affairs.

This year’s lecture is named ‘The Power of Hope in a World of Challenges’ and is being presented by Maude Barlow.

About the Speaker:

Maude BarlowMaude Barlow is the bestselling author of 20 books. She chairs the board of Food & Water Watch, is an advisor to the Global Alliance for the Rights of Nature, is a councillor with the World Future Council, and chaired the Council of Canadians for three decades. She served as senior water advisor to the UN General Assembly and led the successful campaign to have the UN  recognize the human right to water and sanitation. Maude is the recipient of 15 honorary doctorates as well as the Right Livelihood Award and serves as Chancellor of Brescia University.
