Bagels and Banter is a monthly opportunity to discuss shared research and teaching and learning topics with faculty members in a relaxed setting. Learn about new topics, teaching methods and potential research collaborations.

Bagels and Banter is open to all faculty members. Faculty members are encouraged to bring their senior graduate students along.

September’s topic is presented by Melissa Redmond; “The Primacy of Personal Belief in the Classroom”

Colleagues are invited to discuss how to navigate classrooms that have become contested spaces in light of “individualized notions of social justice, diversity, faith, privilege, safety, and tolerance” all vying for supremacy. The discussion will offer suggestions regarding resisting the discursive primacy of intractable personal belief in university classrooms.
