Advice for Current and Future Students:
Volunteer and get involved with services and clubs, of course, but also don’t forget to take advantage of all that Carleton has to offer in way of free student services. Like counselling, if you’re feeling that you need some extra support or the Health Clinic if you are feeling ill. Even the CSAS and any other workshops offered, take as many as you can, they are free and actually very helpful! There is also academic and career services. Make your tuition worth it and get as much as you can out of your time here. You won’t regret taking part in all Carleton has to offer, I promise you!
Campus Activities:
During the 20/21 academic year, I was elected President of the Bachelor of Social Work Society (BSWSS). It was hard work but I loved it and made many connections and memories! I am currently involved with the Executive Team for the Carleton New Democrats and a member of the Golden Key Honour Society. I work at Carleton as well as the Harm Reduction Strategy Support Staff and Communications Assistant for the Office of Student Affairs. As a student with disabilities, I was able to actually help create this position through the ACT to Employ Program. Carleton has many programs like this, so definitely look into it! I am sure there are others I could list, I am a busy student but I love it and am grateful for the experience!
My Favourite Place on Campus:
I like the library but I love Rooster’s. And yes, it’s just because of the food!
Fun Fact about Me:
I apprenticed as a piercer at a tattoo shop in my early 20s.
