She has published numerous books and articles in journals and edited collections on such issues as the role of non-governmental organizations in development, global civil society, citizenship struggles in Latin America, Mexican politics, theories of regionalism, Canadian development assistance, gender and trade, the political impact of North American integration and the rights of temporary foreign workers in Canada. Her current project examines transnational activism in North America around migrant rights, labour rights and human rights in Mexico. She has worked in the community sector as a researcher, writer and advocate over the past 25 years. Among other publications, he co-edited the 2016 anthology The TPP and Canada: A Citizen&#8217;s Guide (Lorimer) as well as The Harper Record: 2009-2015 (CCPA, 2015). Focused on comparing welfare state approaches to intersecting social policy issues &#8211; long-term care, aging, work and labour, immigration, and equity for women, immigrants, and 2SLGBTQ groups &#8211; her research aims to identify promising directions in policy and practice that advance equity, quality of life, and public stewardship. Her recent publications include Care Homes in a Turbulent Era: Do They Have a Future? Since assuming the role in 2014, he has been responsible for research and policy advice in a host of areas, including labour legislation and employment standards, Employment Insurance, and skills development and labour market policy. Chris has been fortunate to participate in both the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives and the development of the Carleton University Diploma in Work and Labour.
