His teaching and research focuses on Canadian political institutions, as well as Ontario politics. He has published extensively on Parliament and served for many years as president of the Canadian Study of Parliament Group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Norman Paterson Chair in International Affairs<\/em><br><strong>Stephen Saideman<\/strong> holds the Norman Paterson Chair in International Affairs in NPSIA. &nbsp;His research interests focus on the causes and consequences of intervention into intra-state conflicts. His current work focuses on Canadian and NATO\u2019s efforts in Afghanistan and also on the mobilization of diaspora groups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>William and Jeannie Barton Chair in International Affairs<\/em><br><strong>Philippe Lagass\u00e9<\/strong> is associate professor and the Barton Chair at the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs. His research focuses on defence policy and military procurement, as well as civil-military relations and the role of institutions in international policymaking in the Westminster tradition. He teaches courses on defence policy and strategic studies. Between 2012-2014 he served as a member of the Independent Review Panel overseeing the evaluation of options to replace Canada\u2019s CF-18 fighter aircraft, and he is currently a member of the Independent Review Panel for Defence Acquisition within the Department of National Defence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Simon Reisman Chair in International Affairs<br><strong>Meredith Lilly&nbsp;<\/strong><\/em>is associate professor&nbsp;at the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs. and an award-winning researcher and public policy expert. Her current research is focused on global demographic transition and Canada\u2019s economic interests, labour mobility provisions in multilateral free-trade agreements, and emerging public policy challenges facing Canada in a globalized economic context. She served as Foreign Affairs and International Trade Advisor to Canada\u2019s Prime Minister from 2013-2015.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>CTV Chair in Science Broadcast Journalism<\/em><br><strong>Sarah Everts<\/strong>&nbsp;is an associate professor in the School of Journalism and Communication. She spent a decade reporting on science and technology for publications including <em>Scientific American<\/em> and <em>New Scientist<\/em> and garnered several awards. She has an MJ from Carleton, an MSc in chemistry from the University of British Columbia and a BSc in biophysics from the University of Guelph.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>McMillan Chair in Russian Studies<\/em><br><strong>Paul Goode<\/strong> is an associate professor in the Institute of European, Russian and Eurasian Studies who researches \u201ceveryday nationalism,\u201d center-periphery relations in Russia and the role of artificial intelligence on Russia\u2019s geopolitical competition and national identity. He is an applied microeconomist focusing on public and labour economics. His work has published in leading economics journals such as <em>American Economic Journal: Applied Economics<\/em>, <em>Journal of Public Economics<\/em> and <em>Journal of Environmental Economics and Management<\/em>. He holds the Research Excellence Chair at the assistant professor level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>William Walters<\/strong> is a full professor in the Departments of Political Science and Sociology &amp; Anthropology. He studies the objectification of human experience in specific domains \u2014 unemployment, migration, and most recently, state secrecy. His recent work focuses on air deportations. He holds the Research Excellence Chair at the full professor level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Graeme <\/strong><strong>Auld<\/strong> is an associate professor, and the director, of the School of Public Policy and Administration (SPPA).&nbsp; His research focuses on comparative environmental politics and policy, global environmental governance, and the rise of private governance and authority. He holds the Research Excellence Chair at the associate professor level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Amanda Clarke<\/strong> is an assistant professor in&nbsp;the School of Public Policy and Administration (SPPA). Her research explores the intersections of public administration, civil engagement and information technologies. She recently launched the annual <em>Digital Governance Lecture Series<\/em>.
