In the 2025-26 academic year, FPGA researchers:&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Received $14M in research funding, an increase from $8M in 2024-25.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Have 280 active funded research projects.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Have 7 active SSHRC Partnership Grants, a Carleton University record.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Received 32 new Tri-Agency grants.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Published 102 book chapters, 253 journal articles, and 24 books.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<div class=\"not-prose cu-quote cu-component-spacing\">\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe researchers within our Faculty have made an important contribution to social sciences within Carleton University and in their respective fields,\u201d noted Mary Francoli, Interim Dean of the Faculty of Public and Global Affairs. \u201cMy congratulations go out to each of these researchers, as well as the research support team within the Dean\u2019s office at FPGA who support the application process.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Among the highlights of the past academic year, FPGA was awarded three new SSHRC Partnership Grant projects to add to the four already in the Faculty. These new projects include:&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Research Network on Trade Politics in North America and Europe (TRADEPOL)<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Principal Investigator: Achim Hurrelmann (Political Science\/EURUS) The network is an international partnership examining how growing political debates around trade are reshaping governance and decision-making.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The Canadian Cybersecurity Centre of Excellence<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Principal Investigators: Alex Wilner and Leah West (NPSIA) The centre will encompass a national network designed to strengthen Canada\u2019s cybersecurity capacity through interdisciplinary education, research and training.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The Civil-Military Relations Network<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Principal Investigator: Steve Saideman (NPSIA) The network is an international partnership focused on advancing understanding of the relationship between democratic governments and their armed forces.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<div class=\"not-prose cu-quote cu-component-spacing\">\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00a0\u201cThis unprecedented success in research funding reflects the quality, impact, and global reach of both Carleton and FPGA\u2019s research community,\u201d says Josh Greenberg, Associate Dean (Research and Graduate). \u201cIt not only elevates our reputation on the national and international stage but also enhances our capacity to attract top-tier graduate students and postdoctoral researchers who are essential to advancing our research mission.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can learn more about the Faculty\u2019s research success, in the latest <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/fpga\/about\/reports\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">FPGA Annual Report<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Carleton\u2019s success with SSHRC applications reflects the outstanding results posted by FPGA researchers in recent years.
