Claudia is interested in how to improve problems of “brain drain” experienced in rural communities. Claudia’s passion for finding grassroots approaches to help improve the health and well-being of those in under-resourced communities, while empowering a community in the process, was further ignited after participating in a medical brigade to Honduras. Her research project with Free Range, centers around investigating, evaluating and critically analyzing the local initiatives implemented to retain and recruit health professionals in rural communities. Claudia aims to delve deeper into the critical gaps highlighted in the rural medical/health literature and to bring the complexity of this issue to the forefront of individuals attention.
