Don&#8217;t hesitate to reach out to them to learn more about their current projects!<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n    <\/div>\n\n\n    <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"french-linguistics-and-sociolinguistics-at-carleton\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">French Linguistics and Sociolinguistics at Carleton<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Our courses will introduce you to both linguistics (concerned with the formal description and analyses of French) and  sociolinguistics (focused on French uses in social settings and social issues related to French and multilingualism). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Where did the French language come from, and how has it changed over time? What are the differences between French in Canada and elsewhere? <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>French linguistics opens up the world of this diverse and constantly evolving language. You\u2019ll get to learn about how people actually speak French, and how they feel about it when they do. Some highlights include learning about French accents, creoles, dialects, and even slang.
