Leticia Gutierrez is currently a Ph.D. student in Forensic Psychology. She earned a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree (Major in Psychology and Minor in Musicology), as well as a Master of Arts degree in Forensic Psychology from Carleton University. Her research has primarily been in the areas of: examining the effectiveness of problem-solving courts (i.e., drug treatment courts and domestic violence courts); advancing knowledge of what works in community supervision; and, exploring factors that are related to criminal behaviour with Aboriginal offenders. For her Master’s research, she examined the quality of therapeutic relationships between probation officers and their clients and how the quality of these interactions is related to client outcomes (e.g., recidivism).
Leticia is currently a researcher with the Corrections Research Unit of Public Safety Canada and is working with Dr. Robert Hoge at Carleton University for her doctoral research.
