Her work is grounded in feminist and anti-oppressive approaches and examines how institutional policies, professional roles, and organizational practices shape responses to harm and rehabilitation.

Her Honours thesis examined self-compassion interventions in trauma-informed counselling with women survivors of gender-based violence, focusing on practitioners’ perspectives and experiences. This work explored how self-compassion is understood, adapted, and applied in practice, and how feminist and trauma-informed approaches shape therapeutic responses to violence.

Her current M.A. thesis explores how probation and parole officers apply behaviour-change strategies when supervising individuals convicted of intimate partner violence in Ontario, including perceived benefits, challenges, and areas where additional support may be needed. This work also considers how intersecting factors such as gender, race, and socioeconomic marginalization shape supervision practices, engagement, and decision-making.

Future Goals:
Auguste intends to pursue doctoral training in clinical psychology and develop a scientist–practitioner career that bridges research and clinical practice. She is particularly interested in conducting feminist research that centers systems-level responses to gender-based violence while maintaining a clinical focus on individuals impacted by violence and trauma, including those navigating complex social and legal systems.

[24

post-1806","cu_people","type-cu_people","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","cu_people_type-currentgraduatestudents
["GET
