She earned a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree (Major in Psychology and Minor in Musicology), as well as a Master of Arts degree in Forensic Psychology from Carleton University. Her research has primarily been in the areas of: examining the effectiveness of problem-solving courts (i.e., drug treatment courts and domestic violence courts); advancing knowledge of <em>what works<\/em> in community supervision; and, exploring factors that are related to criminal behaviour with Aboriginal offenders.
