New Contract Instructor (CI) Opportunity,
GEOM 2008 (Raster GIS: Pixels and Grids)

Winter 2023

The Department of Geography and Environmental Studies (DGES) invites applications from members of the CUPE 4600-2 bargaining unit and other interested persons to teach GEOM 2008 (Raster GIS: Pixels and Grids) as a contract instructor (CI) during the Winter 2023 term. A calendar course description is linked to the course number, below.

The modality of this course will be determined by the University (in-person, online, or hybrid). In the event public health authorities impose public health restrictions, part or all of this course may need to be delivered online as required by the University and as directed by public health authorities.

This course has been scheduled for Mondays, 11:35 am-1:25 pm (lecture) + Tuesdays, 11:35 am-1:25 pm (lab) + Wednesdays 11:35 am-1:25 pm during Winter Term 2023.

A Masters degree in Geography or Geomatics, or a related discipline, is the minimum requirement to be considered for this position.  Previous work or research experience in the subject area is required; demonstrated evidence or potential for teaching excellence is required; previous teaching experience in the subject area will be considered an asset.  CI stipends are $7,528 per 0.5 credit course (all courses in this posting are 0.5 credit courses).
