During my undergrad, I was able to volunteer in the laboratory for cryospheric research where I became fascinated by the Arctic. This drew me to pursue my MSc in Geography at Carleton University supervised by Dr. Chris Burn.

My Master’s thesis is focused on determining the stability of drilling waste disposal sites (sumps) in the Mackenzie Delta area, Northwest Territories. I do this by determining the extent to which these drilling fluids are migrating sumps currently and comparing this with past data sets from 15-20 years ago. This research contributes to larger efforts from industry, territorial government and the Inuvialuit who are working together to conduct risk assessments and continuous monitoring of the 220+ sumps.

[46

post-29525","cu_people","type-cu_people","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","cu_people_type-graduated-grads
["GET
