I gained a keen interest in this field during an undergraduate class I was fortunate enough to&nbsp;attend instructed by Jen. My previous background in Global and International Studies with a specialization in Global Development, here at Carleton, helped me find my way to the MA Geography program. I&#8217;m looking forward to completing my research on the socio-spatial positionality of members of the Bangladeshi community in Ottawa. Using a Capability Approach, I will assess the obstacles and pathways to social inclusion and economic prosperity experienced by this group in Canada&#8217;s capital city.&nbsp;I will be comparatively assessing responses based on participants&#8217; area of residence (i.e., Ottawa&#8217;s urban core vs. suburbs). Often, this group has been studied under the umbrella category of South Asians as a whole.
