In Mexico City, my research has largely focused on the geographies of “informal” housing and spatial regulation as well as the politics of city-making processes and everyday planning practices. More recently, I’ve started to investigate the possibilities for affordable housing through the formation of community land trusts as part of Carleton’s multidisciplinary research project, A Safe and Affordable Place to Call Home (2023-2033).
