36th Canadian Symposium on Remote Sensing, St-John\u2019s, NL<\/strong>
\nThe 36th Canadian Symposium on Remote Sensing in St. John\u2019s NL was a tremendous success. Held at the Delta Hotel and Conference Centre on 8-11 June 2015, the Local Organizing and Technical Program Committees received numerous expressions of gratitude for the high quality technical program, social events, student programs, exhibitors, sponsors, and the excellent venue. The Technical Program included a wide variety of Special Sessions, oral and poster presentations, a Leadership Forum, as well as Keynote Addresses from Nalcor, CSA, Urthecast, and NASA. The Social Program included the Iceberg Alley IceBreaker, as well as the Awards Reception, held in the spectacular setting of The Rooms, overlooking St. John\u2019s Harbour and the city\u2019s downtown on a beautifully sunny evening. Students also benefited from a 1 day summer school that included lectures from UNB, MUN, C-Core and COGS as well from one session on job market in remote sensing with panelists from C-Core, KimGeomatics and MDA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\nCongratulations to Ravinder Virk and Scott Mitchell<\/a> (from the University of Lethbridge and Carleton University, respectively) for their paper entitled: \u201cEffect of different grazing intensities on the spatial-temporal variability in above-ground live plant biomass in North American mixed grasslands.\u201d Canadian Journal of Remote Sensing<\/em>, Vol. 40, No. 6 pp. 423-439.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
