The purpose of the CNST is to develop a cadre of scholars and scientists with northern experience and, at the same time, to enhance the educational opportunities available for northern residents.&#8221; (<a href=\"http:\/\/acuns.ca\/en\/awards\/overview\/\">Association of Canadian Universities for Northern Studies<\/a>)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 id=\"w-garfield-weston-award-for-northern-researchmasters-15000\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">W. Garfield Weston Award for Northern Research<br>\n(Masters) $15,000.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Graduate Students Alice Wilson and&nbsp;Nicholas Brown were each awarded the&nbsp;W.
